A Defiant, with two Ford V6 engines, had an engine failure within a year or
two of first flight. As I remember the owner, an A&P, rebuilt the engines
with "over-size" parts to prevent further failures. This was about 10 years
ago.

I've heard of several Ford V6's in coverted Cubs
with 1200-1400 hours no problems. These engines
were taken apart and inspected for wear and looked
fine.

These are called a V6 STOL project and they have a
