Fellow Rough River 2015 attendees may remember Fernando who for the last ten years has been building a Cozy in Teresina, Brazil.
A recent cancer survivor he was looking to rekindle that builder spirit and found it at the gathering.
On meeting Fernando at RR he immediately invited us to visit him in his home country and on our travels we couldn't disappoint, he so wanted others to see his 'plane!
And so it was a week ago we were excitedly welcomed by Fernando and for the next two days enjoyed exchanging ideas on his Cozy project and his wonderful company.
Fernando was instrumental in finding us hangar accommodation and, when we had technical issues with our EZ, rallying round his many friends to help us even though he was now out of town..
It was with great sadness that we heard today Fernando had passed on in his sleep last night while visiting his son in Sao Paulo.
Fernando's brother-in-law wishes all those who made his acquaintance to remember him with fondness.
The canard ccommunity has lost another character.
