October EAA Sport Aviation cover
Hi, everyone:
With the October issue of Sport Aviation’s digital format going live tomorrow (9/25), I wanted to give you a little advance sneak-peek at the cover. I think you’ll like it. Thanks

Andrew,
All the aircraft I know of excluding ultralights use 2 piece wheels. You will find out how well seated the bead is the first time you need to change a tire.

Re: Breaking the bead on 11-4.00x5 tires [1 Attachment]
An old guy saw me struggling with my 3.40x 3.00 x5's and suggested his method.
Use one, or two, broad blade screw driver(s) around the circumference to gently/gradually 'inch' the bead

Sounds like your rudder(s) are un-porting at higher speeds. Not really “flutter” but more coupling and un-coupling to the airflow outside of a dead zone.

Re: Aileron Flutter.... or so I thought.
There's nothing wrong with stepping on the brakes at speed. It's not like the rudders are going to fall off. A simple barrel roll at say, 200 MPH in an EZ is full aileron, full rudder. I've done

Neil thanks for a very interesting read.

Remember guys you can’t take a big bench or vice or drill press or tire breaking large tools with you. This tool looks good for travel.

Re: Breaking the bead on 11-4.00x5 tires
I just stick the tire in a vise with a couple of 3/4" plywood scraps on each side of the bead and..... bingo.
