Agreed with you as far as rolling paint. It seems as if you missed the tipping part of the procedure. The rolling is just to get the paint evenly on the substrate. The tipping removes the bubbles and

Spec sheet for this product says it goes (brush, roll and tip, spray) on 3 mils wet, 1-2 mils dry.

I guess al those yachts with there beautiful topsides are just illusions and that manufactures don’t make paint for that purpose is also an illusion. I assume your comment is based on a great deal

Actually, the paint has the most shine BEFORE cutting and buffing which takes away maybe 5% of the shine. C/B is to get the imperfections (dust, orange peel, dry spots) out.
