Re: High road or Low road...
In 2017, the NOTAM prohibited s-turns and also said to stay in line. It was a setup for problems. If I had it to do over I would have done the S-turns or just passed the RV in front of me that slowed

I don't claim to be an expert, just experienced.?? This year will make 42 years in a row I've flown the arrival in my Eze.?? For years I was a fan of the low road and used it, but my view

I got stuck behind a J3 cub on a two mile final. I'll bet I actually flew five miles doing S turns LOL. Tower instructed me to put it on the numbers but I guess the cub guy thought they were talking

They can see you. In 2017 in my VariEze, I wasn’t even near FISK and they said “White canard turn right and get behind the two biplanes.” (I uploaded a YouTube video.)

Go high. And be prepared to break the rules if the plane in front of you slows to 60 mph on downwind.
They will see you.

Re: High road or Low road...
Neil,
The first couple of years I came in at 1800. Then one year one of the controllers said “EZ go up to 2300”. Ever since I’ve come in at 2300.

High road or Low road...
I'm planning OSH this year. I've flown in many times but this will be the first in the Long-EZ.
I'm looking for consensus from the group... Is it better to arrive low (1800'MSL) at 90 kts or high

Re: Coupling Radio antennae
The distance between antenna’s is 3.5 wavelengths yielding a null in the azimuth beam pattern around 16 degrees either side of the forward direction. There will also be additional nulls either side

Re: Tubes for cheng shin tires?
Joe is usually correct.....!
Is there any problem with using baby powder? Used it for years but got nervous and bought a jug of the "real" stuff for tires.

Re: Coupling Radio antennae
Agree with Del. I had one of the winglet antenna wires loose by my side between the cushion and fuselage long enough to reach the right seat if need be.
And we have used it connected to the handheld

Re: Coupling Radio antennae
The splitter would screw up the radiation pattern and if one antenna shorted it would cause a mismatch and work even worse.
I agree that the radio is much more likely to die than the antenna. I

Re: Coupling Radio antennae
Thanks for all the responses. I sort of guessed that, trying to avoid a communication loss by doubling my antenna, might cause problems beyond my expertise.
That I why I invoked my Canard

Re: Coupling Radio antennae
In case you still want to try something, this phasing harness should combine the antennas. The distance between the antennas is a factor, but at ~28', might be at an optimal 1/4 wave
