COZY: Re: [c-a] Dynon D10A screen replacement

Neil, You say that you installed a new one and it is dead. Was the old one dead? If the old one had a dark spot and the new one was completely dark perhaps you didn’t get the ribbon cables fully seated or they are damaged. Also check that you have > 12 V going to it. I had my D10 EFIS be dark and then flashing and it was a corroded fuse holder causing the problem. They are still on eBay LQ038Q5DR01 for sale | eBay Del Schier Cozy IV N197DL Cannon Creek Airpark 15FL

A while ago I bought a new Dynon display screen from Teamequip for about $30 total. I just got around to installing it and it’s dead. Now Teamequip doesn’t show it on their website and they’re not answering their phone or live “chat”.
I thought about sending the unit to Dynon for repair but they’ll charge hundreds.
Does any one have another source where I can buy a replacement screen?
Thanks Neil _____________________________________________________________
I think I found several sources, not just Teamequip.
Try searching Google for LQ038Q5DR01
I did and several sources came up. Neil

The old one (that I installed about 4 years ago) developed a blank spot in the center of the display that eventually made the screen unreadable. The problem is intermittent. I installed/un-installed/bench-tested it several times, but I couldn’t get it to stay on. Yes, 12v supply good. Hmmm…where’s the "fuse holder"? Inside the unit? Do you mean the breaker for the unit? I have an RMA number from Dynon but I know they’re gonna charge me $600 for the unit, plus labour fees, so I haven’t sent it off yet. I’ll get another on order (from China) but I’d like to try to find the problem with this one. Thanks Neil

Neil, My Cozy has Bussmann fuse holders for most of the circuits in the airplane. Just taking out the EFIS fuse and sticking it back in a few times fixed the black or blinking screen on the EFIS. I replaced the fuseholder to be safe. So low startup supply voltage will cause the D10 not to light up. I would take apart the D10 again and visually inspect all the connections that you had worked on replacing the display. Del
