Inboard Aileron Hinge Attachment, Right Wing
Michael & Michelle O'Grady
The attached picture is looking forward (down in the photo because the wing is held on its leading edge) on the right wing at the location of the inboard aileron hinge attachment. I have a straight edge held against the inside of the upper surface. As you can see, there is a depression on the wing upper surface resulting in a 0.10” gap which prevents me from attaching the hinge flush against the upper surface. I could force it, but it would bind the hinge.
I have 2 options:
#2 is easier and I would like to do that.
Thoughts/Comments?
Thanks, Mike O’Grady

Hi Mike,
2nd option seems better to me; but, pay attention that the 2 hinges' axis (hinboard
& outboard) have to be aligned too .... so ....
Have a nice year.

Hi Mike- Personally, I'd sand it flat and make the repair. If you get the cured glass hot enough to actually permanently move, I see a real chance it might be hot enough to melt the adjacent blue foam, or at least de-bond it locally. Ken
