Re: LED Landing light?
In the nose, it is exactly like Joe Person’s. In fact he is where I got the idea from in the first place. I’ll get a picture of it later this afternoon and sent it to you.

Re: LED Landing light?
Mike, Still in process, things have pretty much ground to a halt here with the sequester, I've been out to the hanger 2X since it started.
The concept is this:
I am using 2 Aeroled "sun beam lights

Re: LED Landing light?
I agree, the nose is a very good location. No deployment mechanism, turn it on in any flight regime, no shadows, no vibration no heat.... I used a High beam/low beam so I get both taxi and landing

I personally would really like to see the process you went thru to put the lights in the nose, that is if you took pictures of the all the different steps. Also how you are forming the Plexiglass

Steve, One problem that you may not anticipate is cold air gets in the holes for the plans install; not good flying near freezing temps. I do like the plans location as you can aim the light up or

Landing gear strut and brake light is great when you are in only landing configuration.
It, however eliminates one of the advantages of lights (both in day and night) and that is when close to a busy

Re: LED Landing light?
I've seen some guys put a landing light in the speed brake and another installation on the nose gear strut.
I have often thought about installing landing lights in the nose of the wheel pants but

O-235 C2C for sale
After years of not building and just lurking on this list, I'm finally getting back into my Long EZ project. In the interim, I have picked up an O-320, so my ready-to-assemble O-235 C2C is for sale.

Hi Ion, All,
After I replied to you I looked up the RAM Mount site - very confusing if visiting for the first time!"
I therefore thought to copy the group with this.

Re: LED Landing light?
You can also replace the Plans light bulb with an equivalent form factor LED light. I did this mod, and you could weld with it, it is so bright. I sourced the lamp from Ebay as I recall - an after

And I'll bet Ion could off load that epoxy work on someone less sensitive if he was inclined. I know where to look at an example install near Ion's hangar too...

Re: LED Landing light?
Ion, bummer about the epoxy sensitivity. However installing the plans landing light should take less than an hour (messing with epoxy) time. That's only for closing out around the foam in the hole you

Hi Bob,
I'm not so keen on doing the plans landing light since I'm nursing a mild epoxy sensitivity. I try to save my epoxy exposure for more important repairs. A bolt-on solution is

Re: Ipad mini panel mount
Here's the Ram mount I use for my mini iPad. When I built my panel I saved room (for something). At first I had it velcro'd flat in the panel. That didn't work well so I bought a Ram mount and that

Re: Epoxy on sale
Didn't see that. That isn't a place I've purchased from. Haven't been buying much epoxy lately. Composites One usually had good prices.
Still, shopping around is a good idea. Just have to
