On both my Long EZ's when I installed the nylo brake lines I installed fittings just before they go down the gear legs. Inside the legs I stacked soda straws and glassed those in. The nylo goes inside

Rock, one way to find out for sure is to do a before and after (you cut them off) comparison. You can always glue them back on. --

Long-Ez Speed Brake spring tension

10 or so years ago I substituted those nasty springs with a gas strut on a friends LongEZ. . I can't remember exactly how I did it. I know it's been working fine all these years. I'll get a pic. of it
